A Quarter Century on the Fireground: Euramco Group Celebrates 25 Years of Supplying Fire Services and the Energy Sector in Europe
The RAMFAN manufacturer looks back on a quarter century in Europe, from its Luxembourg
base, supplying ventilation for fire and rescue, confined-space and hazardous-area work
CONTERN, Luxembourg – October 20, 2026
Euramco Group, maker of RAMFAN portable ventilation equipment, is marking 25 years in
Europe. The company set up its European subsidiary, Euramco Safety SARL, in Luxembourg in
2001. From Luxembourg it serves fire and rescue services, oil, gas and petrochemical operators,
and industrial customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
History and milestones
Euramco’s roots go back to the 1960s, to pump and steam-turbine work for the United States
Navy. In the 1980s the company applied that experience to a water-turbine-driven fan for
shipboard damage control. That work led to the RAMFAN brand, which first appeared on the
GF165 gas-powered positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan in 1990. The Luxembourg company
was set up to serve customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Today, Euramco’s
European operations are based at Rue Edmond Reuter, 5326 Contern, Luxembourg. Milestones
in Europe include the 2019 appointment of Wolf Safety as exclusive UK distributor of RAMFAN
hazardous-location fans, a partnership with Magirus on the “Magirus, powered by RAMFAN”
PPV range, and Euramco Safety exhibiting at INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hannover (Hall 27, Stand
B58, 1–6 June).
The name Euramco (EUR-AM-CO: Europe-America-Company) was adopted to express that
transatlantic commitment. Europe was never envisioned as merely an export market. It became
part of the company’s name and as a core pillar of the company’s permanent identity.
Products and markets served
RAMFAN equipment includes gas, electric, water-powered and battery-powered PPV fans for
structural firefighting; confined-space blowers and ducting; and ATEX- and IECEx-certified
explosion-proof blowers. The hazardous area range is certified to II 2 G Ex db eb IIB T6 Gb for
Zone 1 and 2 gas atmospheres. Users include offshore oil and gas producers, petrochemical
plants, utilities, shipyards and aircraft maintenance teams, who use RAMFAN fuel-tank
ventilation kits. Explosion-proof lighting is omitted here (public sources show Wolf Safety
lighting via the UK distributor, not a Euramco brand). Euramco Group’s other brands are Kraken
Power (power generation, storage and conversion), NOMAD (portable and vehicle-mounted
pumps) and PRO//connect (controls and connectivity).
Commitment to European customers
“Europe has been part of our story for a quarter of a century. Our customers here work where
the air can be toxic, flammable or full of smoke. They need equipment that is certified,
dependable and supported locally. We are grateful to the fire services, energy companies and
distribution partners who have worked with us, and we intend to keep earning that trust,” said
Zach Allen, Vice President, Euramco Group.
What’s next
Euramco plans to keep developing brushless, battery-powered ventilation and integrated power
systems for European users.
“The next 25 years will be shaped by electrification and stricter safety standards. We will keep
investing in certified equipment and local support, so our European partners have what they
need,” said Zach Allen, Vice President, Euramco Group.
